Límites Que Respiran
@ KIOSK
3054 N Sheffield Ave, Chicago, IL 60657
Opening Thursday, July 9th, from 5PM - 10PM
On view through Sunday, July 26th
Límites Que Respiran is a solo exhibition by Isabel Padilla Bonelli, centered on the abandoned home site as a place for understanding and affirming belonging as an Afro-Puerto Rican. Through the interaction of the built environment, nature, and human markings, Padilla Bonelli uses vernacular architecture to examine how we assert belonging within our homes and landscapes while negotiating what is culturally gatekept, both to protect and to provide visibility.
Límites Que Respiran will be on view from July 9–26, 2026, at KIOSK. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, July 9, from 5:00–10:00 PM at 3054 N. Sheffield Avenue.
The exhibition will be accompanied by public programming every Sunday throughout July, including a paper weaving workshop, curated library day, A/V sound installation, and film screenings. For updates on programming and exhibition related events, please follow @isabelsinstants and @kiosk.chi as the exhibition opens.
