SkyART Anti-Gala: 25th Anniversary Online Auction Kickoff
@ SkyART
online
Opening Monday, June 15th, from 5PM - 5PM
On view through Friday, June 19th
SkyART is proud to present the Anti-Gala, a week-long online benefit auction celebrating 25 years of free arts programming on Chicago’s South and West Sides. Founded in 2001, SkyART has provided young people ages 7–24 with access to professional Teaching Artists, art therapy, and youth development programming at no cost. This annual fundraiser reflects SkyART’s commitment to making the arts radically accessible, no formal attire required.
This year’s auction features original works by Modou Dieng Yacine, Doug Fogelson, Leasho Johnson (courtesy of the artist and Mariane Ibrahim, Chicago/Paris/Mexico City), Autumn Breon, Kellie Romany, Thérèse Mulgrew, Neil Goodman, Darrell Roberts, Jeff Zimmermann, James Schenck, Matt Morris, and Armani Howard, alongside six archival pigment prints from the David Weinberg Collection and a cast-signed Chicago Fire helmet donated by David Eigenberg. SkyART’s own collaborative paintings, created by youth across multiple program years, are also available, including large-scale works from Project 3rd Space and SkyWAY.
Alongside the artwork, bidders can access a range of curated experiences and packages spanning world-class dining, live sports and performance, cultural access, and SkyART merchandise and programming opportunities.
Proceeds from the Anti-Gala directly fund free art programs, art therapy, and youth development opportunities for young people across Chicago’s South and West Sides. This year’s auction is made possible with support from the Mendelson-Wolff Family Foundation.
Bid now at antigala.skyart.org.
