STEP RIGHT UP 📢 Come one, come all to our upcoming exhibit ‘Big Tops and Sideshows’!
The circus has always been a place of wonder and excitement, filled with exotic animals and daring performers. However, beneath the surface, lurked a darker side where both animals and humans were abused for the audience’s amusement. Despite this uncomfortable truth, the circus offered an accepting community for those who were different. This collection celebrates the joy and excitement the circus has inspired for hundreds of years while providing an “outsider” perspective on a space traditionally occupied by outsiders and outcasts.
You don’t want to miss this opening reception! Although we couldn’t fit a trapeze in the studio for it, there will be jugglers, carnival snacks, and more to enjoy!
