Ode to FOOD
@ Ground Level Platform
2001 S Halsted St. Chicago, IL 60608
Opening Friday, February 8th, from 7PM - 10PM
Ground Level Platform is pleased to announce our grand opening with Ode to FOOD featuring a public pig roast hosted by chefs David Melendez and Lindsey Ciszewski and edible sculpture by Cecilia Iwata.
The event celebrates both the opening of Ground Level and the Chinese New Year, ushering in the year of the pig.
Ground Level is an arts platform and event space, and our mission is to connect people with art, regardless of background. Our name implies a non-hierarchical playing field in which the viewer, artist, and artwork are all equally essential. We support a range of events focused on cultural exchange and artful living.
Cecilia Iwata is a Chicago-based artist. After graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015, Iwata has exhibited her work in Chicago at the Union Street Gallery, Hairpin Art Center, Fat City Arts, Baby Blue Gallery, in Los Angeles at Converso Modern West, and with Rhona Hoffman Gallery at Art Expo Chicago.
Lindsey Ciszewski and David Melendez are both locally-based chefs who have worked at several acclaimed restaurants in the Chicago area, including Splitrail, Bohemian House and The Bellemore.
The event is open to the public, and runs from 7- 10 pm. First come first serve.
