Working across sculpture, installation, painting, and material experimentation, “Poke a Hole” brings together the work of Phoebe Guyuzi Chen, Spencer Grogan, Blake Glos, and Daniel Tseng. Responding to the multiple uses and physical layout of The PLAN, this exhibition begins with a simple architectural investigation of the rooms and spaces within a shared home and studio.
The four artists each inhabit their own intertwined realities of living and making. Rather than treating the home-studio as a neutral site, “Poke a Hole” approaches these spaces as a condition where the artist is never only an artist, but a person with multiple roles, responsibilities, and identities that continually overlap.
