Join us on July 31 for the opening of Red Sand Dream by Amanda Thomas.
Red Sand Dream is a photographic exhibition inspired by synchronicities, death, and the environment. Through the lens of her images, carefully arranged, Amanda represents a dream that felt like a premonition. Using different modes of obstruction, she plays with movement and subtle disruptions of sight to oppose the rules of the “heroic” landscape image. Red Sand Dream aims to capture the conflict between stillness and tension, personal relics, and eerie echoes of something unnamed.
Amanda Thomas is a Chicago based artist and curator working with analog and toy cameras. Amanda has produced and curated over a dozen pop-up exhibitions and is a founding member of Cherry Knot Curation. Red Sand Dream marks her solo exhibition debut.
