“Let’s Get Cookin!” “That Was Then and This is Now!” “Ring Out the Old and Ring in the New!” Adam Hines (b. 1985) is the king of the exclamation point. Enthusiastic aphorisms pepper his vibrant drawings as well as his everyday conversations. “Keep on Rollin”, Hines’ first solo show, puts this infectious positivity and forward-moving energy on full display.
A founding member of Project Onward, Hines is a prolific artist who has created over 10,000 individual pieces. In color pencil and marker, he depicts what he’s coined “The World Tour” – an extensive listing of places, people, animals, and global phenomena. His artwork also literally serves as a road map by including directions to his featured sites via road, air and public transit. Over the past three years, the artist has expanded his output into ceramics, creating hundreds of glazed figurines he calls “the clones.” The pocket-sized beings are arrayed into squadrons: cowboy clones, lifeguard clones, superman clones, broccoli clones, among others. “If you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us,” Hines warns.
This exhibition coincides with the release of Hines’ 2026 wall calendar, designed so that fans might be charged by the artists’ relentless optimism all year round. Hines says, “I want to grab colored pencils and markers to start drawing whatever I want and make it into a masterpiece. Art making takes a lot of courage.”
