Conflict of Interests is about friction. It is about using the “wrong” material on purpose. It is about the disconnect between what something looks like and what it says. The medium doesn’t match the message.

Harmony is often hard to achieve. But let’s be honest: Do we always want harmony? How tensions are resolved, make peace with, or completely defy opposition can be more enlightening. We want the clash. We want the contradiction. Let’s see the fight!

50 artists from around the country were selected by the ShadowBoxX Collective to share their takes on this theme. The opening coincides with the monthly ArtWauk, where studios and other venues open their doors to the public free of charge.
