Elephant Room Gallery is proud to present “Art for the Sole 2”, the 2nd iteration of this group exhibition featuring over 40 artists curated by local artists Joe Nelson and John N Yaou. The exhibition opens on Saturday, June 28th and runs through August 9th at Elephant Room Gallery, located at 704 S Wabash Ave. in Chicago.
In the first show of its kind, first exhibited at the gallery in the summer of 2024, “Art for the Sole” celebrates sneakers as an art form. The artists use sneaker silhouettes as a vessel to create one of a kind works that demonstrate the impact of art within this subculture. For the 2nd rendition of the show, artists will continue to build on the creative exploration of the influence of art on sneaker culture, using their unique styles and mediums on a custom wood cut out. Exhibiting artists include Aaron “Ace” Rhaburn, AJ Ainscough, AliSix, Am Woo, Andi Ink, Ant Ben, BirdMilk, Blake Jones, Corey Singletary, Courtney Collins, Cujo, Czr Prz, Darius Dennis, Delisha, Dome, Don Mega, Elloo, Everett Reynolds, Fantasía Ariel, Fedz, Isamar Medina, Jamiah Calvin, J. Height, Jeff Pak, John N Yaou, Killabunz, KIND, Kozmo, Mel Villarreal, MMont, Myron Laban, Oinkz, Rahmaan Statik, Reddor Santiago, Shawn Smith, Steve Seeley, Tubs, Verloe, Waleed Elharith Johnson, Won Kim and Zurdo72.
“Art for the Sole 2” opens with a public reception on Saturday, June 28th from 5 to 9pm. The exhibition will be showing through August 9th and more information including open hours will be listed on the gallery’s website: www.elephantroomgallery.com
Elephant Room Gallery opened in Chicago’s South Loop Neighborhood in 2009 with a mission to focus on local, new, emerging and under-represented artists in a wide variety of mediums and styles. Over the years they have continued this mission while also adding more established artists to the mix. Many artists exhibited here have gone on exhibit in other nationally and internationally recognized galleries and museums. Through their diverse roster and uniquely intimate space, the gallery has become an exciting hub for up and coming artists and has been instrumental in bringing more recognition to the Chicago art scene. Services offered include artist assistance, management, consulting and art installation for both private and corporate clients.
