4th Annual Art of Pride
@ Hyde Park Art Center
5020 S Cornell Ave, Chicago, IL 60615
Opening Sunday, June 1st, from 12PM - 4PM
Now in its fourth year, Art of Pride returns to the Hyde Park Art Center with an afternoon of queer joy, radical imagination, and collective celebration. This free, intergenerational event brings together LGBTQ+ artists, performers, makers, and community organizations from across Chicago to honor the transformative power of art and the brilliance of our queer and trans communities.
This year’s celebration features:
Live Performances & DJ Sets
Experience powerful performances by Cat Mahari, Efrén Arcoiris, and Marcela Torres, whose work spans movement, ritual, and storytelling. Our soundscape will be curated by Chicago DJ legends Duane Powell and CTrl Zora, blending house, soul, experimental, and diasporic beats that keep the day flowing with rhythm and reverence.
Workshops & Art Activities
Join us for a hands-on lineup of drop-in workshops and creative activations for all ages—including a ballroom vogue dance workshop, interactive printmaking, community storytelling, and a collage-making workshop centered on themes of chosen family, queer love, and liberation.
Queer & Trans Artist Vendor Market
Shop intentionally at our vendor market featuring an exciting roster of local queer and trans artists, makers, and small businesses—offering everything from handmade prints and zines to herbal remedies, jewelry, and wearable art.
Community Partnerships & Resource Tables
Throughout the event, visit resource tables hosted by our community partners: Center on Halsted, Gage Park Latinx Council, Brave Space Alliance, The Reservoir Collective, and Lumpen Radio x Erika Ordosgoitti—sharing support, connection, and essential resources for our communities.
Honoring Community Leaders
This year, we are proud to honor Gregory Smith and Michelle Nordmeyer for their outstanding service to the cultural landscape of Chicago. Their deep commitment to community and care has shaped countless lives and made this work possible.
Whether you’re a longtime neighbor, a young artist just finding your voice, or an ally looking to show up and celebrate—Art of Pride 2025 is a call to gather, create, dance, and honor the legacy and future of queer artists in Chicago.
