Robin Monique Rios’ “Observation Series”

“The Observation Series began in 2004, each piece a photo collage of X-rays, MRI’s & photography. This Series is truly my voice, conveying my personal, emotional and intellectual understanding of myself and the world around me, tearing apart superficial layers built up around us by society, religion, politics and our own family…”

Brian Garay’s realistic oil paintings take your breath away. Nudes, Portraits & Landscapes. “Somewhere between reality & fiction best describes my work. Early on, I observed Baroque as well as 19th Century European & American art. The use of color, strong composition and confident brushwork inspire my use of time-tested traditional painting techniques. A Chicago area native, I’ve seen many great art collections Chicago offers, absorbing vast amounts of information by painters of the past.

Laurie Buman, Bridgeport Arts Center, offers “blue period” pieces, Inspired by John Herschel’s cyanotype process, introduced 1842. “My cyanotypes combine photography & painting, blurring the line between realism and abstraction.”
