Art Party for End Money Bond Lobby Day
@ Chicago Freedom School
719 S State St, 4th Floor, Chicago, IL 60605
Opening Sunday, February 23rd, from 1PM - 4PM
Join Chicago Community Bond Fund for an art party to prepare materials for the Lobby Day to End Money Bond on February 25th (register here: bit.ly/PFAlobby ). We’ll gather at the Chicago Freedom School on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 1-4pm to craft a banner and posters supporting the Coalition to End Money Bond’s proposed bill: The Pretrial Fairness Act. All are welcome, and art skills are not required! Materials and snacks will be provided.
The Pretrial Fairness Act will be introduced this winter in the Illinois legislature. It eliminates money bond and will dramatically reduce the number of pretrial incarceration in our state. The bill’s passage would transform pretrial justice in Illinois, allowing the vast majority of people to remain free to care for their children and families, work, and contribute to their neighborhoods while awaiting trial. Come help us make our support for the Pretrial Fairness Act visible!
Chicago Freedom School’s space is accessible by both elevator and stairs. The elevator is located at the back of the building via the alley. Use the intercom at either entrance to gain access to the building by buzzing the “Chicago Freedom School” buzzer.
