The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to our upcoming exhibition 8TH INTERNATIONAL ARTIST’S BOOK TRIENNIAL: MEMENTO MORI curated by Kestutis Vasiliunas, and showcasing the artwork of 56 artists from 20 countries. The 8th International Artist’s Book Triennial is a unique non-commercial cultural project, organized to promote artist’s books, creators of artist’s books from all over the world, and to connect galleries, publishers, editors and printers of fine art & limited editions, the greater general public, collectors and individual artists. It is an educational art project involving world-renowned artists to familiarize art teachers, students and general public with the interdisciplinary arts with the stunning variety of artistic disciplines in an artist’s book – and especially to stimulate creativity and love for books.
Kestutis Vasiliunas (1964) is a Lithuanian printmaker and graphic designer, and creator of artist’s books. He holds a teaching position in the Graphics Department at Vilnius Academy of Arts in Lithuania.

8TH INTERNATIONAL ARTIST’S BOOK TRIENNIAL: MEMENTO MORI will be exhibited from August 23 – September 29, 2019. An opening reception will take place on Friday, August 23 from 5 – 8pm, and a Curator Lecture and Special Book Viewing will take place on Sunday, August 25 from 1 – 4pm. At the Special Book Viewing, guests will have the opportunity to handle select artist books while wearing protective white gloves. Both the opening reception and curator lecture are free and open to the public.
