A Benefit Concert
for Chi-Nations Youth Council’s Decolonizing Efforts
Saturday, June 8th, 6-11pm
at New Rhythm Arts Center (1441 W. Morse Ave), Chicago IL
Suggested Donation $10
featuring an INCREDIBLE line-up headlined by First Nations artists:
– SickSavages (Lakota)
– Stuart James (Dakota)
– Terrance.Jade (Lakota)
– OPLIAM (Mohawk)
with support from local musicians and bands:
– Tukkiman
– Adam Gottlieb & OneLove
– Afro+naut & the Afro-nots
and poetry from local writers and community organizers representing the cause:
– Naomi Harvey-Turner (Lakota)
– Karen Harvey-Turner (Lakota)
– El La Katrina
Proceeds will benefit the Chi-Nations Youth Council in their efforts to build the First Nations Garden on Wilson and Pulaski, a new physical space for indigenous youth-led organizing and gardening.
Three touring acts will be coming down for this amazing event! Two Acts (Sick Savages and Terrance Jade) will be coming from Pine Ridge Oglala Lakota Indian Reservation in South Dakota. And another touring act (Stuart James) will be coming from Spirit Lake Dakota Reservation in North Dakota.Alongside a whole host of powerful artists from Chicago supporting the effort, this is going to be a truly mind-blowing concert for an important and underrepresented cause.
