On Saturday, September 22 at 7:00 pm, Gerber/Hart Library and Archives will host its Fall Fundraising Benefit: Open History, Open Future. Held on-site at the Gerber/Hart, the event will feature a look at upcoming possible future projects and welcome noted LGBT history scholar John D’Emilio, Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois-Chicago, as its next Board President.
Gerber/Hart looks forward to the expertise and leadership D’Emilio can bring to its rich 37-year history. In addition, the organization anticipates its next chapter of community engagement, which includes enhanced exhibits, digital collections, and expanded opportunities for research and programs about LGBTQ history. The evening will also mark John’s 70th birthday.
Tickets:
$100: An evening of food, drink, ongoing and one-night exhibits, birthday cake and celebrating John D’Emilio’s 70th birthday, and silent auction ($50 for Students and Seniors 65+)
$175: Evening events plus Pre-Benefit (6:00 pm) birthday reception and sparkling beverage toast with John D’Emilio.
$250: Evening events, Pre-Benefit Reception (6:00 pm), plus support recognition in program booklet.
$500: Evening events, Pre-Benefit Reception (6:00 pm), support recognition in program booklet, plus support recognition in slide show of collection items being played though out the evening.
