Penpal Matching
@ Second Unitarian Church of Chicago
656 W Barry Ave, Chicago, IL 60657
Opening Monday, February 19th, from 6:30PM - 8PM
Are you interested in becoming a pen pal to an LGBTQ-identified person in prison? OR are you already a pen pal and would like some dedicated time/space to write or talk over questions that are coming up in your relationship?
Join us every 3rd Monday of the month! You can:
1. Get oriented to penpal-ing with Black & Pink, expectations, resources, and do’s and don’ts.
2. Get matched with a pen pal!
3. Have dedicated time to write to your pen pal
4. Talk out questions that are coming up in your pen pal relationship with members of the Pen Pal Support Team
*Please arrive by 6:30p if possible for the orientation. Though if you arrive later we’ll do our best to get you the info you need and matched.
We meet at 2nd Unitarian Church (656 W Barry Ave) in the basement. This space is wheelchair-accessible.
Food is provided, but please bring something to contribute if you can!

Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. Our work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experience of currently and formerly incarcerated people. We are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing.
