Maria Elena Ortiz, Associate Curator of the Pérez Art Museum and curator of Firelei Báez: Vessels of Genealogy will engage the artist in a conversation about her work in the gallery. Through large scale paintings and drawings, and Báez addresses race, gender, beauty, and politics, particularly as they pertain to her Dominican and Haitian heritage.
