Black Out dinner
@ 6018North
6018 North Kenmore
Opening Sunday, November 6th, from 7:30PM - 9:30PM
On view through Sunday, November 20th
During the Black Out Dinners, diners will explore how to accomplish mundane tasks – eat and drink – without relying on sight. These Black Out Dinners, often said to heighten the sense of taste, kick off 6018North’s closing events prior to its upcoming 2017 rehab and are 6018North’s first fundraisers for its re-opening exhibition Chapuisat Brothers’ In Wood We Trust in September 2017.
Diners will meet in 6018North’s first floor to view the menu and order wine in the light. They will then be escorted to the ballroom, where they will be served the meal in the dark by Chicago Lighthouse employees. Afterwards they will be escorted downstairs to have dessert in the light and to engage in a conversation led by the Chicago Lighthouse servers about the experience.
While some areas and work from, Its Elemental, and Chapel will be darkened during the Blackout Dinners.
