Luke Chueh: Between Black and White
@ Rotofugi Designer Toy Store and Gallery
2780 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614
Opening Saturday, March 2nd, from 7PM - 10PM
On view through Sunday, March 31st
This March we welcome back one of our favorite artists, Los Angeles-based Luke Chueh, for his third solo exhibit at Rotofugi Gallery.
Employing minimal color schemes, simple animal characters and a seemingly endless list of ill-fated situations, Chueh stylistically balances cute with brute, walking the fine line between comedy and tragedy. Chueh’s work has been featured in contemporary art galleries around the world, and reinterpreted as collectible and limited edition vinyl toys.
Join us the evening of Saturday, March 2, 7-10pm for the opening reception. We’ll have music by DJ Sean Doe, plus complimentary snacks and soft drinks…and if you’d like to BYOB, we’re just across the street from the wonderful Beermiscous!
Luke will be in attendance at the opening, and signing for fans from 7pm until 8:30pm. We’ll have a selection of Luke’s vinyl figures, produced by Munky King, available for purchase.
Exhibit continues through March 31, 2019.
