Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is proud to collaborate with Art Design Chicago, a year-long celebration of Chicago’s art and design legacy, on a collection of co-hosted Storytellings throughout 2018, taking place in our intimate Drawing Room Library. Each Storytelling will feature Art Design Chicago exhibition curators and contemporary Chicago-based artists and designers, conversing about the city’s art and design legacy and focusing on ways in which contemporary creative practice is influenced by generations of artists and designers that came before.

This April, in conjunction with the Art Design Chicago exhibition “Picture Fiction: Kenneth Josephson and Contemporary Photography,” opening at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago on April 28, the exhibition’s curator Michael Darling talks with artist B. Ingrid Olson, whose work is featured in the exhibition. This conversation focuses on the legacy of Ken Josephson, who spent his career carefully examining the building blocks of photography and has influenced artists of all kinds.

This complimentary event will take place in the Drawing Room Library at 11:00AM with seating first come, first served. RSVP: http://chicagoathleticevents.com/tc-events/storytelling-series-with-art-design-chicago-michael-darling-and-b-ingrid-olson

Born in 1987 in Denver, Colorado, artist B. Ingrid Olson currently lives and works in Chicago. She works primarily between photography and sculpture. She records her body as it moves within the confines of her studio: shifting in relationship to its surroundings. The results of this process are performative images and multidimensional objects that re-imagine the capacities of the body and the structuring of space.
