Take Care is organized in partnership with the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force and aims to shed light on systemic barriers to quality healthcare through the lens of breast cancer. Featuring work by Indira Allegra, Laura Berger, Joan Giroux, and The Think Tank that has yet to be named, this group exhibition explores themes of care and community, vulnerability and support by way of painting, text, sculpture, and immersive sound. An array of interactive programming, including screenings, panel discussions, and more, will take place over the course of the exhibition.
Weinberg/Newton Gallery is an exhibition space with a mission to educate and inform the public on social justice issues. Through artwork and programming the gallery provides an engaging environment for discourse on critical contemporary issues facing our Chicago community and beyond. Connecting artists with social justice organizations, Weinberg/Newton Gallery works to drive change and cultivate a culture of consciousness.
