Possibilities of Print: Creating Space and Place
@ The Overlook
3323 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Opening Tuesday, August 22nd, from 7PM - 8PM
This month for Possibilities of Print: Creating Space and Place, we are focusing on Black Boys Feelings from our current exhibition, Brotha, and want you to join the conversation! We encourage you to bring and share any books, zines, photos, articles, etc. that are filling a void or creating a space that is needed.
Books, publications, and paper, itself, have the power to create space and place. By creating these places, the publication can become a destination of its own. Come join us for a conversation and sharing for the this month’s Possibilities of Print!
About the Program:
Possibilities of Print
An experimental reading, discussion— and sharing— series that aims to explore how print has left a mark or impression on you, personally and creatively. With a focus on the power and importance of printed materials— anything including but not limited to diaries, journals, news pamphlets, magazine ads, books, street signs, etc.— we want to explore how the act of distributing and discovering physically written and printed matter affects the flow of ideas and knowledge in an artist’s life, practice, and community. A collaborative program organized with Read/Write Library meeting every fourth Tuesday of the month.
