Darcy Neal (http://darcyneal.com/) is an electronic artist living in Portland, OR. She was originally inspired by the art of circuitbending, and began to create custom designed objects with a focus on interactive experiences. She enjoys circuit design and performing live with her devices. While living in TX, she co-founded LadyBrain Studios, where she developed commissioned interactive creations and taught electronic workshops at hackerspaces, galleries, venues and universities. She has been working at 4MS company and loves sharing her knowledge about audio electronics. Her focus is directed towards physical computing and having tangible sensory exchanges with interactive musical instruments.
Her sounds are dark, sweltering climaxes of electronic tones, with underlying cello roots, carrying the sound deep through the psyche of the listener. Her name means ‘Dark One’ and her sounds reflect just that. Sometime in 2007, she discovered circuit bending through a friend, and instantly became fascinated with electronics, and since then has completely dedicated her craft to developing audio electronic circuits and building obscure instruments that deal with physical interactions to control its functions, and designs instruments for musicians and artists through commissioned work. She actively plays electric cello and handmade electronics, and performs under her full name. Darcy Neal is a primarily self-taught artist, a musician, and an avid electronics enthusiast.

Instinct Control:
Instinct Control is a project of Ryan ⊥ Dunn primarily utilizing the unintended, soul-salvage of planned obsolescence through direct physical contact with the circuitry of tape players. Instinct Control considers instrumentality, expectations and the musician’s gesture—resisting the implied philosophies of settings, knobs, planned instruments, reveling in chance and dialogue, performing sound with an object that is fickle to changes in environment and performer.
