Corinne Halbert’s Golden Days is an acid rainbow of childhood memories and candy-coated gravestones marking the doomed trail to adulthood. Youthful female figures strike the eyes with bold black lines and luminescent colors. Living skeletons worship seductress destroyers. A hooded reaper stalks the suburbs. A little girl grips a knife and licks her ice cream cone with two tongues. Tones pulsate. Visions blur. Danger resonates—sprinkled with sweetness. The psychedelic journey log of Golden Days reminds us that, as Masashi Kishimoto noted, “All things that have form eventually decay.”
