Olga Stefan, curator of Few Were Happy with Their Condition, will present her curatorial practice and projects within the context of her migratory condition, revealing challenges and advantages, and how her experience of migration has informed her curatorial and artistic interests. Stefan will discuss how migration has become a necessity for many working in contemporary art as well as other professions.
Olga Stefan was born in Romania, grew up and established her career in Chicago, and since 2009 has been based in Zurich. Her curatorial work includes Laughter and Forgetting for Bucharest Art Week; Few Were Happy with Their Condition at Kunsthalle Winterthur; Blurred Lines and Showtime at ABContemporary, Zurich; and Drawing Protest at Shedhalle Zurich, among many others. She has also developed solo shows with artists Dan Perjovschi, Lia Perjovschi, Stefan Constantinescu, and is organizing an upcoming exhibition of artist Keren Cytter.
