We are taking time to reassess what is required to continue The Visualist as a platform. For years, much of the work of finding and listing events across Chicago has happened through ongoing research by our team—work that often makes up the majority of the events on the site, while community submissions are also reviewed and approved. While our platform helps share exhibitions, screenings, performances, and artist-run activity across the city, we spend countless hours running the site and keeping up the nonprofit culture/Math that houses it.
This gathering is an opportunity to share more about that process and talk together about what it would take for The Visualist and culture/Math to continue. How can we sustain the project? What kinds of participation are needed?
Join us for an open conversation about capacity and the future of this shared resource.
