For Chicago Exhibition Weekend, Prairie is hosting a closing reception for Alberto Ortega Trejo’s exhibition π˜–π˜―π˜¦ 𝘰𝘧 𝘡𝘩𝘦 𝘲𝘢𝘒𝘭π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘯𝘰𝘀𝘡𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘒𝘭 𝘣𝘦π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨𝘴 π˜ͺ𝘴 𝘡𝘩𝘒𝘡 𝘡𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘒𝘬 𝘸𝘰𝘳π˜₯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘡𝘳𝘢𝘡𝘩. Alberto Ortega Trejo is a Mexican artist, curator, and architectural researcher based in Chicago, USA, and Pachuca, Mexico. His work uses architectural history, writing, and video to address representations of indigeneity, the production of extreme environments, and contemporary political struggles in the Americas. He has been a fellow of the Society of Architectural Historians and a grantee of the New Artists Society of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Jumex Foundation for Contemporary Art, and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. His work has been shown at DePaul Art Museum, BienalSur, Ca’ Foscari Zattere, Rhona Hoffman Gallery, Andrew Rafacz Gallery, Uri-Eichen Gallery, SITE Galleries, SpaceP11 and Centro de Arte y Filosofia. He has been a guest speaker for institutions and organizations like MoMA’s Emilio Ambasz Institute x DocTalks, the American Institute of Architects, the Society of Architectural Historians, Smart Museum of Art, Materia Abierta, UPenn, MAS Context and CENTRO.
