Gallery PINK presents a reception to celebrate Strange Reverie, an exhibition featuring new work by Janice Elkins and Gina Lee Robbins.
Using expressive images, fractured form, and rich layers of texture, Janice Elkins and Gina Lee Robbins reveal the ghosts of human experience in abstracted, yet vividly emotional ways.
Working independently, using different media, and speaking from different generational vantage points, the duo has created a cohesive symphony of canvases, sculptures and installations.
Each artist works intuitively, mining deep in her psyche to explore fragments of form and memory that generate a visceral, and sometimes uncomfortable response. Materials and composition reference artifacts from nature, the urban landscape and personal narrative that leave indelible marks. The work weaves together these experiential souvenirs with profound Proustian sensuality.
***In conjunction with the exhibition, Janice Elkins will be opening her studio for a special sale of discounted prints and original artworks.
