Michael Gallope is Associate Professor of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Minnesota. He is the author of Deep Refrains: Music, Philosophy, and the Ineffable (University of Chicago Press, 2017). As a musician, he works as a keyboardist in a variety of genres; in Brooklyn he has worked with Janka Nabay, Oneida, Skeletons, and Starring. In Minneapolis, he plays with the band IE.
