After months of reinventing the 3rd floor, Salvage One is pleased to announce the opening of its very own gallery, SO3—a space designed for the union of creative processes through the convergence of old and new, design and art, function and aesthetic. SO3 Space (pronounced sō), located in the very center of the 3rd floor, provides artists an alternative to the sterile white-walled gallery. SO3 reflects the distinctive architec…tural design style of Salvage One, where discarded wood panels and salvaged filmstrips are walls and windows. What is formed in the interior are vignettes, spaces ready for the meeting of interior design and fine art. By combining the work of Chicago’s own artists and artisans with our vintage furniture and architectural elements we create a place that lessens the distance between viewer and object.

Casey McGonagle, Drew Griffith, Max Reinhardt, Matt Sauermilch, Sydney Sherwin, and Leonardo Kaplan.
The exhibition is open during Salvage One’s store hours, Friday 11-5, Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 12-5.
