The work imagines how alien lifeforms might appear and behave on these far away planets. A preview of this work will be exhibited in Chicago at Roots & Culture Gallery from May 15 to June 20.
Heart & Bone Designs
Kelsey and Andrew McClellan own and operate Heart & Bone Signs in Chicago, IL. Both are sign painters by trade and specialize in the traditional techniques of gold leaf and hand-lettering. They are inspired by the history of sign painting and gold leaf in Chicago and are focused on preserving this craft through their everyday work. In 2025 they self-published The Golden Era of Sign Design, a compilation of first person histories and original sketches from the Beverly Sign Co of the south-side of Chicago. Their ongoing preservation efforts of local historic and vintage signs has led them into the nascent stages of founding the Chicago Sign Museum, which will focus on preserving, teaching about, and archiving Chicago’s rich sign history.
