Upcycling with a Twist: Embroidery
@ Chicago Public Library, China Town
2100 S Wentworth Ave, Chicago IL 60616
Opening Tuesday, July 1st, from 2PM - 3:30PM
92 million tons of fashion waste end up in landfills every year. As thoughtful consumers and makers, we can help reduce that waste and create something fabulous all at the same time. Bring a piece of clothing that you are considering throwing out or retiring and let’s give it new life! In this program, you will learn how to embroider on your clothing and create unique and personalized designs that will level up your fashion game and minimize your waste. You could turn this skillset into an entire fashion line! Hit the thrift stores, pop some tags, and embroider your way to high fashion.
All supplies will be provided for participants, except for the item that is going to be embroidered. Participants must bring their own item to embroider.
