Leave A Message is a music-mediation series that aims to build connections through group meditation, conversation, and the documentation of audio “messages” left by participants. The experience begins with time to settle into the space, mingle with fellow community members, and sip complementary tea. Next, the facilitators will provide a brief introduction to meditation designed to reduce the barriers of entry to the offering followed by a live, improvised music-meditation featuring voice, trumpet, flute, percussion, and drone based instruments designed to support in meditation. Following the meditation there will be built in time for individual reflection, group sharing, message recording, tea, and community connection. No previous experience, beliefs, or training are required to participate and benefit from this complete offering.
Chairs will be provided and you are welcome to bring your own mat, blanket, pillow, and eye mask if you wish to lay on the ground. The event is most appropriate for those age 14 and older.
