“Clever, erotic, romantic, and a work of art.”
This surreal Hand-in-Hand film offers a funny, touching, and realistic look at lovers and their emotional responses to both jealousy and carnal lust. After two average men meet and fall in love in New York City, lover’s paranoia manifests through a series of erotic dreams. Insecurities become surrealist vignettes, including a dance sequence choreographed by Christopher Rage. It’s a touch of Cocteau, a dash of Fellini, and a whole lot of beautifully photographed sex. THE NIGHT BEFORE is third production from Hand-in-Hand Films with a wide net of talent. Director/playwright Arch Brown, already known for the style and quality of his work, helped establish the ambitious and beautiful style of gay adult films in the 1970s.
THE NIGHT BEFORE, director: Arch Brown, studio: Hand in Hand Films, runtime: 72 minutes, year: 1973, current distributor: Bijou Video https://www.instagram.com/
