Join us for a bilingual zine making workshop on the theme of dreaming + migrant vernacular. Let us converse and create a collaborative digital zine as we ponder these questions.
This is part of a series of workshops on the theme of the American Dream, belonging, and migration hosted by Illinois Humanities. Attendees are encouraged to reflect and create a written or visual piece during this time with the hopes that, together, we can all heal the traumas of forced assimilation and colonization and create a space that celebrates the beauty of migration.

Están invitados para un taller de escritura y arte sobre el tema del Sueño Americano y el vernáculo de las comunidades migrantes. Acompáñenos en esta plática y ejercicio de creación que será publicado digitalmente en una antología tipo zine. Las preguntas que exploramos serán: “Cual es tu Sueño Americano?” y “¿Qué significa pertenecer?” Este taller es parte de una serie de eventos sobre los temas de el Sueño Americano, el pertenecer, y la migración organizado por Illinois Humanities. Este espacio de creación es formado con la esperanza que ayude a sanar el trauma causado por la asimilación forzada y la colonización, y sin duda también celebraremos la belleza de la migración.
