As artists and researchers, Nina Elder and Alexis Elton are in a long term exploration of places that respirate: Breath Mountain. Seeking cycles of oxygen and moisture, Nina and Alexis use their bodies, sculptures, and video installations as clouds – sites of accumulation, condensation, and release. Through their residency at Watershed, they are reinvigorating a week-long experiment made in the Sky Island ecosystem of the Chiricahua Mountains in southern Arizona. On Sunday, they will present their evolving project and the objects they have traveled with including research ephemera, performance, pseudo-scientific tools, and collective breath work.
