Flower Gut System: A Spooky Lecture
Thursday, October 26 at 5:30 PM
280 Building, Room 203
Ruby T has exhibited and performed at Western Exhibitions, Roots & Culture, Iceberg Projects, and Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago; Hales Gallery in New York; and Bass & Reiner in San Francisco, among others. Her comics and illustrations have been published by Half Letter Press, and are in the collection of the Thomas J Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was also a long-time member of Chicago organizing collective Make Yourself Useful. Ruby T received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2016 and lives and works in Provincetown, Mass.
From her fictional paramilitary organization Mansion Rug Liberation Network to her recent solo exhibition Mega Meadow Liquidation, Ruby T’s work is an ongoing experiment in translating fantasy to reality, and she is fueled by anger, desire, and magic. Flower Gut System will track Ruby T’s iterative and winding practice, complete with cartoons, spells, and visions.
