SHOW SYNOPSIS:Through our journey in life, we all embark on different emotional experiences while shielding our true feelings from the world around us at times. We go through ups and downs that become the storybook of our life. A “reality” that is an entirely subjective experience, one that’s completely different from everyone else’s interpretation.
Through seasonal changes, some of us struggle behind closed doors, but push through with a resilient smile. A mentally surreal landscape and a reminder that….
NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS
A Closer Look At The Artists Involved:
ADONTE CLARK
As an advocate for mental strength, Adonte Clark encourages his viewers to not shy away from their inner thoughts but rather dive deeper into them. “I think in life the beauty is in the journey getting there. We don’t get to decide what home we come to when we’re born. But we do have dreams and ideas of who we want to be as we grow older and the type of life we want to live. That’s what I want to illustrate within my work.”
JASON FARLEY
Chicago based painter Jason Farley uses his military background to apply immense focus and dedication into the art he makes today. With collegiate credentials in both oil painting and illustration, Farley has devoted well over a decade of his life progressing his skillset as an artist. His newest series of work, which requires the artist to spend nearly 100hrs on each piece, invites the viewer into a world of luxury, beauty, and romanticism.
JENNY VYAS
Highly influenced by beauty in human emotions, Chicago artist Jenny Vyas reveals them through multiple expressions in her work. Her interest in human frailty is depicted in paintings where she creates abstracts of human silhouettes and fluctuating forms. All drawn from reality, personal experiences and memories.
RAWOOH
Raul Ramirez, aka “Rawooh” has been known for years in Chicago for his eye-catching graffiti and mural work. His career began in 2006 as a street artist and later shifted to canvas work as his style began to mature. Some of his favorite mediums are painting on found objects, such as wooden crates. Since 2015 Artist Replete has collaborated with Rawooh to create some the largest murals in Chicago
SAMANTHA DECARLO
Since the age of 10, Samantha DeCarlo has immersed herself in a life of art. Her obsession from a young age blossomed into attending college at the American Academy of art, a place that created a core foundation to build her visual personality.
After graduating, the Chicago based artist was offered a teaching position in painting. Feeling a bit uncomfortable with the opportunity, she feverishly practiced for two months straight. To her surprise, Samantha ended up selling every single piece from her practice collection, creating a market for her work. Since August of 2021, Samantha has been full time artist with a growing collector base.
