Opening Friday, February 8th, from 5:30PM - 8PM
Public and Private Reflections of Social Change is an Evening of Participation, Panel, and Performances, held as part of the special programming during the class of 2019’s Master’s of Art in Art Therapy and Counseling (MAATC), graduate art show: Art of Connection: Spaces Between. The exhibition will run from January 25, 2019- February 8th, 2019.
This evening’s event aims to amplify differing perspectives in approaches of social change within the field of art therapy. These perspectives include scholarship around Intersectionality, such as Queer, Feminist/Womanist, and Disability Theories. This evening of exploring the spaces in between will include a panel discussion on decolonization and disconnection in the field, along with a series of performances by the members of the graduating cohort. Chicago DJ Shannon Harris will close the event with music to celebrate the culminating work of MAATC graduating 2019 class. Come celebrate with us!
