In Conversation: Ken Rosenthal and Robert Clarke-Davis

Join us at LATITUDE for an artist talk and conversation between artist in residence Ken Rosenthal and Robert Clarke-Davis, Associate Professor of Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago . Ken will be delivering a presentation outlining his past projects and his current body of work in production during his residency at LATITUDE using the Piezography PRO printer. Ken first met Robert in the early 90’s while completing his MFA at SAIC and have since stayed in touch. The artists will engage in an open dialogue and discuss the progression of Ken’s work and the development of his latest increasingly autobiographical series. Stick around after to view a few of his latest Piezography prints in person, they won’t disappoint!
Robert Clarke-Davis earned his BA in Art and Art History from Beloit College, Wisconsin (1974), and his MA (CNAA) in Fine Art from Goldsmiths’ College, The University of London (1982). He has been a professor of photography at the SAIC since 1990. Clarke-Davis’s work is represented in SAIC, 1995 Graduate and Faculty Portfolio, along with that of his students.
Ken Rosenthal received a BA in still photography from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television, and an MFA in photography from SAIC in 1993. His artwork is represented in the US by KLOMPCHING Gallery, New York; Etherton Gallery, Tucson; Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe; Dolby Chadwick Gallery, San Francisco.
Rosenthal’s photographs are in many collections internationally, including The George Eastman House, Rochester, NY; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Art Institute of Chicago; National Portrait Gallery, London; Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Washington DC; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego; Santa Barbara Museum of Art; and the Wittliff Collections’ Southwest and Mexican Photography Collection, San Marcos, Texas.
