Every year Roots & Culture shares a program of the Video Data Bank at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s recent acquisitions or the shorts program they take to the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. This year is no exception…. but it is, without a doubt, a very special year!
2016 bring us Roots & Culture’s 10th Anniversary AND the Video Data Bank’at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s 40th! Celebrate these Chicago institutions by catching up on some of the VDB at SAIC’s on-going and brilliant programming.
The screening includes the new video from Milwaukee’s own Cecelia Condit, a hilarious and smart new video by John Smith, former Chicagoans Ben Russell and Dani Leventhal (Dani’s & Jared Buckhiester “Hard as Opal”, pictured above, won the \aut\FILM Award for Best LGBT Film at the Ann Arbor Film Festival this year), and a classic Videofreex piece reminding us of the long, vital history of the Video Data Bank.
The VDB at SAIC’s Ruth Hodgins will be in attendance to present the program!
