Amelia Charter performs “Mountain Mothasupial”, as part of “Mothernism 101” (Lise Haller Baggesen)

M o t h a s u p i a l D o. L a.

This performance/live artwork is in homage to a mothasupialโ€™s first unborn daughter. The poetry read and spoken streams off the page and hops into improvisation occasionally. The choreography is inspired by the mothers of Lise Haller Baggesenโ€™s letters, which you can hear through the headphones as part of her installation.

about Amelia’s artwork: Amelia’s performance artwork presents a point of attraction between the somatic, material, persona, and meditation. She weaves together specific postmodern theories, somatic principles, improvisational choreography, immersive scenic design, and hybrid writing. Her performance/live artwork embodies the nature of ephemera by illuminating the subtle dialectic nature of materials, craft, and mood.
