Get a glimpse behind the scenes of multidisciplinary artist Brendan Fernandes’ upcoming project: New Monuments | Chicago, produced by Black Cube Nomadic Art Museum in association with the Chicago Park District. New Monuments | Chicago challenges the limited historical narratives of conventional monuments, reimagining these structures as inclusive gathering spaces for diverse representation.

A key part of New Monuments | Chicago will be a durational performance at the Logan Monument in Grant Park, choreographed by the artist and featuring dancers from Chicago’s BIPOC and Queer communities. Leading up to this event, Fernandes will hold rehearsals with his roster of dancers at 21c in the Main Gallery on the 2nd floor. Guests of the hotel are invited to drop by and observe anytime during the rehearsals, taking place:

Monday, April 1 | 6-9pm
Saturday, April 6 | 2-5pm
Sunday, April 7 | 2-5pm

The following week, please join Fernandes and Black Cube for the live, durational performance on Friday, April 12, ongoing between 7-10pm at the Logan Monument in Grant Park (S Michigan Ave & E 9th St). Learn more at http://blackcube.art/new-monuments.
