Lauren Sudbrink’s work, For the Birds, will be open for viewing on the following Sundays: August 6th, 13th, and 20th.
Hybrid gallery hours are Sundays from 12-5pm CDT. The work is live streamed on Twitch, and we are also open for in-person visits by appointment. Please email birdshowchicago@gmail.com to arrange a visit. Address, accessibility information, and other details will be provided once your appointment is confirmed.
Sudbrink writes: “For the Birds is an instrumental installation of bird feeders created out of instruments like tambourines, chimes and an assortment of bells. As the birds enjoy the snacks provided in and on the feeders, they will be activating the instruments and creating unique and experimental soundscapes. It only seems fitting that with the singing and songing that the birds gift us with each day, that we see what sort of orchestral scape they can create when provided with additional musical tools.”
