Join us in welcoming Jared Brook for his debut artist talk at FLXST Contemporary on Saturday, February 11, 2:30-4:30 pm.
Jared will walk us through his current show “Sacrifice and Revelations” at the gallery. The show features a new body of paintings of queer figurative abstract portraits that draw on constructions of the queer gaze in the digital age. Like the labor of gay cruising of yesteryear, Jared’s paintings makes us work to find queer cues. The young men in his portraits are painted so that they blend into the background demanding us to look ever so closely to see them.
