Kavi Gupta presents SEANCE, an evening of music, art, performance and community in celebration of Jeffrey Gibson’s stunning solo exhibition Beyond the Horizon, hosted by Gibson and multi-disciplinary artist and performer Ãle Campos/Celeste.
Gibson’s life and work resonate powerfully with memories of the families Gibson found and constructed in the underground dance, music, art and performance scene while living, studying and working in Chicago in the 1990s.
Invoking the pioneering spirits of Chicago’s 90s drag underground, SEANCE is a gathering of next-gen queer and BIPOC entertainers, including Dutchesz Gemini, Lynzo the Heartthrob and Ruby Que, with sonic performances by DJs Zola/Zolita and Miss Twink USA.
Join us as we spotlight the living legacy of the generative and transformative creative culture thriving at the intersection of visual art, music, performance and collective community.
