Throughout September and October multidisciplinary artists Carina Yepez, Erica Maria Littlejohn, the Comfort Station, Logan Square Neighborhood Association, and other community organizations and artists will host a series of events inviting community members to collaborate in the creation of memorial flags, quilts, and banners which will be displayed at the Comfort Station during a Dia De Muertos celebration on October 30. Each workshop will begin with the guiding question of “who/what are you honoring,” and with expert guidance attendees will be able to participate in the creation of their own flags or banners. All artistic materials and tools will be provided and all are welcome.
All workshops will be held at the Comfort Station and are open to the public. Because of size constraints please RSVP in advance for the indoor sewing workshops on Tuesdays.
