Jun 6th 2021

The Kolmar Music Collective is a group of classical string musicians committed to searching out and performing the works of diverse composers. Their June concert will feature guest vocalist Rae-Myra Hilliard singing spirituals arranged by Harry Burleigh, who introduced the genre into the concert repertoire. The group will play string quartets of late 19th century British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and American William Grant Still, a leading 20th century African-American composer. Finally, we’ll hear Werner Jaegerhuber’s “Invocation”, who developed a unique style that combined his study of classical music in Germany with folkloric music of his native Haiti.
