Latinx experiences & intercultural crossings in Chicago House & nightlife
The focus for the CBSCM’s next installment is the history of dance music and social spaces in Latinx community—both its unique and overlapping history to predominantly Black & Black LGBTQIA+ community; contributions to and influences upon the music and culture; and Queer presence and subgenres/intersections in House (techno, hip-house, footwork, etc), with a particular eye toward Humboldt Park as an historic community in Chicago’s House history and branching out to other predominately Latinx spaces throughout the city.
