World Listening Day Program and Hike
@ Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education
100 N Lake St, Gary, IN 46403
Opening Sunday, July 15th, from 1PM - 4PM
This year’s World Listening Day theme is Future Listening. For more information, visit the World Listening Project website at https://www.worldlisteningproject.org or the World Listening Project Facebook page.
Leaders for the day are part of the Chicago-based Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology. Soundscapes are becoming increasing loud, so some unexpected tips to reduce our noise in our neighborhoods will be shared. Enjoy unique listening experiences along the Miller Woods trail and consider how soundscapes experienced here relate to wildlife conservation and our appreciation of northwest Indiana’s natural splendor.
The Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national lakeshore at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/indu.
